Hazele Hogan Barrett

HAZELE HOGAN BARRETT Hazele Barrett 97, of Vero Beach Fl. Passed away peacefully January 14, 2013. Born on March 2, 1915 she lived the first five years of her life in Wellborn, Swanee County FL. She Arrived in Vero on January 1, 1920 with her family to reside in this area, she was locally schooled and graduated from Vero Beach High in 1934. Working as a waitress in the dining room of the Royal Park Inn where she met James J Barrett a Front Desk Clerk and Night Manager. They were married August 24, 1940 at her parents home on 28th Street. After WWII they returned to Vero Beach from Ft Benning, GA. where James served during his War Years. They became involved in many charitable works, spent countless hours donating hand crafted items including crocheted table clothes, blankets, and pillows. From 1961-1977 she owned and operated the Eunice Style Shoppe along with several other associates. After Retiring James and Hazele enjoyed touring many states in the US more than a few times, staying in places that were considered "out of the way" Their Common interests included but were not limited to music of many different genres, old movies, and PBL radio were a steady diet for both. Hazele will be remembered by many as a caring, giving person, not expecting or asking for anything in return. She is proceeded in death by her husband James. Survived by her son James T. Barrett. A celebration of life will be held Saturday March 2, at First Baptist church in Vero Beach at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Indian River County VNA/Hospice house or any chosen Charity. Paid Obituary
