JOSEPH LIBERTUCCI

JOSEPH JAMES LIBERTUCCI Joe died from complications of cancer on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Indian River Medical Center, only 10 days away from his 88th birthday. He was born October 15, 1925 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Josephine Danella Libertucci and James Libertucci. Joe served four years of combat in WWII in the 101st Airborne Division and later in the 92nd Airborne as a paratrooper. He participated at Normandy D Day and Battle of the Bulge among other major battles and was wounded in combat in Belgium. He later reenlisted as Quartermaster and was stationed in occupied Frankfort, Germany. After the war he moved his family to South Florida where he lived and worked for many years. He retired as City Manager in Miami Springs and eventually relocated to Vero Beach, FL. He was an avid tennis player and played on a daily basis until 80 years of age. A great animal lover he enjoyed the company of his many dogs and horses. Joe is survived by five children, Tina Amos (Jim), Helen, GA., Joseph Libertucci (Betty), West Palm Beach, FL, Lloyd Libertucci, Denise McKelvey (Ross), Lee Libertucci (Jill) and their Mother Lil, all of Pompano Beach, FL, grandchildren, Joseph, Ernest, Mary, Lee Jr., Bret, Joey and Brent, great grandchildren, Chad, Sophia, Colton, Chloe, Charlsie and Chandler and great-great grandchild Rosalie. In addition, he is survived by his long time companion, Susan Holland, of Vero Beach, FL. At Mr. Libertucci's request there will be no visitation or services.
