Leon Dunbar

Leon Linton Dunbar, 86, died Nov. 16, 2012, at Life Care Center of Post St. Lucie. He was born in Dunbarton, S.C., and lived in Port St. Lucie, coming from Broward County. He was an entrepreneur in the carpentry industry. Survivors include his sons, George Leon Dunbar and Garthia Dunbar, both of Arizona, Bruce Dunbar of Texas, Edwin Dunbar, Wayne Dunbar and Lionel Dunbar, all of Port St. Lucie, and Keith Dunbar of Miami; daughters, Margaret Ann Oestricher of Queens Village, N.Y., Sen. Larcenia Bullard of Miami, Joyce Scott of Arizona, Janice Freeman of Philadelphia, Toni Dunbar of New Orleans and Jennifer Dunbar of Port St. Lucie; sister, Ona Mae Worthy of Washington, D.C.; 45 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his sons, Tyrone Dunbar and Jowers "J.D." Dunbar; brothers, Hard Dunbar Jr., Thomas Dunbar and James Dunbar; and sisters, Helen Dunbar and Nellie B. Hawkins. Services: Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a funeral service at 1 p.m. Nov. 24 at Stone Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, Fort Pierce.
