PHILIP J. MCMAHON, 78 years, died Monday October 14, 2013 at his home under the care of Hospice. Phil was born in Charleston, W. Virginia, but spent his childhood and most of his adult life based in Chillicothe, Ohio. Phil enjoyed his career in the telephone industry, working and travelling throughout the continental United States, Asia, The Middle East, South America, and Caribbean. Phil moved to Stuart, FL in 1983 and was employed by the city of Stuart. Phil is survived by his wife Nancy, whom he was married to for 57 years. They were blessed with five children: Patrick(Ghazala) living in Kuwait, Pamela of Port. St. Lucie, Paul (Linda) of Palm City, Paige (Janet) of Chillicothe, Ohio and Jonathan of Stuart, FL. He has nine grandchildren: Heather Greenwood and Stephen McMahon of Port St. Lucie, FL, Nathan and Ethan McMahon of Jacksonville, FL, Meaghan, Kelly and Kate McMahon of Palm City, FL, Katie Beth and Conor McMahon of Chillicothe, OH. He also has 3 great-grandchildren, Briauna Greenwood, Makayla and Collin McMahon, all of Port St. Lucie, FL. Phil has a surviving brother, James of Venice, FL and sisters Margaret Ratcilffe and Janet DeBord of Frankfort, OH and Anne Raines of Chillicothe, OH along with many nieces and nephews. Phil was a U.S. Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion and The Elks Club. He attended Palm City Presbyterian Church. Phil will be remembered most as being a loving husband, father and a devoted Granddad who was adored by all of his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him. A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday October 26, 2013 at Palm City Presbyterian Church.
