Robert Wehrman


ROBERT (BOB) WEHRMAN Bob Wehrman, age 79, passed away at his home in Stuart, FL. Born in Cleveland, OH, he enlisted with the US Army after high school and was a Master Pilot on an army fire boat in Okinawa, Japan during the Korean War. He met his wife Jeanne while both were employed at TRW and had two daughters, Dianne and Karen. Bob moved his family to Freeport, Bahamas in 1962 where he bought "The Fishing Hole" restaurant and motel. He purchased a seaplane which he used for guided fishing trips and to supply his restaurant with seafood from the out islands. Bob flourished in this new environment working as a commercial diver for the Bahamas Oil Refining Company and Bahamas Cement Plant. He also was a water skiing instructor and a rescue volunteer for B.A.S.R.A. (Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association). He moved to Stuart, FL in 1976 and bought a local business, True Pitch Propeller. In his retirement, he was an avid boater, fisherman and beekeeper. Bob was a member of the Martin County Anglers Club and participated in numerous Stuart Sailfish Club fishing tournaments. Surviving him are his wife, Jeanne, daughters Dianne Dwyer (Bill), Karen Stull (Jim) and four grandchildren - Ford Dwyer, Brennan Dwyer, Kenna Dwyer and Kali Stull.
