Shirley L. Szombathy, 80, died Feb. 1, 2012, at Salerno Bay Manor, Stuart. She was born in Phillipsburg, N.J., and lived in Stuart for 12 years, coming from Syracuse, N.Y. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Stuart. She was a member of Miles Grant Golf & Country Club and the Meals on Wheels Program in Syracuse. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Joseph G. Szombathy of Stuart; daughters, Karen M. Polinsky of Batavia, Ill., and Susan M. Smombathy of Stuart; son, Joseph W. Services: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Feb. 4 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Stuart, with the Rev. Jack Barrow, officiating.
