Walter "Sarge" Jshombach

Walter "Sarge" Jshombach, 64, died May 14, 2013, at Martin Medical Center, Stuart. He was born in St. Petersburg and lived on the Treasure Coast for 20 years, coming from Fargo, N.D. He attended California State University, San Jose State University and North Dakota State University. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in vocational education and a master's degree in human resources and management. He retired as a master sergeant after serving 23 years in the Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. He was a JROTC instructor in North Dakota for two years and started the JROTC program at Martin County High School in 1993. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Crystal D. Jshombach of Port St. Lucie; daughters, Letrice Eldon of Bradenton, and Shacarol Matthews of San Francisco; sons, Marvin Jones Jr. of Port St. Lucie, and Sirbyron Johnson of St. Petersburg; sister, Temple Etheridge of St. Petersburg; brother, Carl Williams; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill and Curtis Johnson. Services: A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. May 22 at the Grace Place in Stuart.
