WILLIS ALSTON
BROWN, III, M.D. Dr. Willis Alston Brown, III , 82, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2013, at the Skilled Care Center of Indian River Estates, Vero Beach, Florida. He was born in Sarasota FL, raised in Tampa and attended Emory University and University of Miami School of Medicine (Class 1956). Medical internship was at Duval Medical Center, Jacksonville and a pediatric residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami. He served as a Captain in the USAF. The rest of his medical career was spent in Titusville, Florida (1961-1996), where he established Jess Parrish Hospital's first pediatric ward and later was Board Certified in Family Practice. He was a Paul Harris Fellow and Past President of the Titusville Rotary Club. He with his wife Shirley moved to Indian River Estates in Vero Beach in 2007. He was a tenor in the First United Methodist Church Choir, the Treasure Coast Chorale and also sang with various groups at Indian River Estates. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Shirley, sons David and Michael of Titusville, daughter Michele Mason of Stuttgart, Germany, brother Thomas K. Brown of Denton, Texas and three grandchildren. Services: Visitation is at 10 A.M. on October 30, 2013 at North Brevard Funeral Home in Titusville, followed by a graveside service at 11 A.M. at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Titusville.
