JoAnn Charette Obituary

JoAnn Charette, 73, died April 7, 2011, at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. She was born in Southington, Conn., and was a resident of Palm City for 11 years, having moved from her birthplace. She was a high school teacher in the Plainville, Conn., school system before retirement. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Harold Charette of Palm City; sons, Jeffrey Charette of Hooksett, N.H. and Scott Charette of Flanders, N.J.; daughter, Gail Kirstein of Avon, Conn. and Boca Raton; sister, Rita Bartlett of Southington; and four grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312; or online at diabetes.org. Services: Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. April 12 at Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel. The funeral will follow immediately at 7 p.m. in the chapel. Services also will be conducted at DellaVecchia Funeral Home in Southington. Interment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery in Southington. Condolences may be written on: foresthillspalmcityflorida.com.
