ANNE JULIA MCCABE Anne Julia (Teslovich) McCabe passed December 9, 2012 surrounded by family. Beloved mother of Irene, Sharon and Michael McCabe. Grandmother to Mercedes Bigelow, Orlando and Erin McCabe, Fort Collins, CO. Mother-in-law to Jane Perry McCabe, grandmother to Nicholas Perry McCabe, his wife Melody Shannon McCabe and great grandmother to their children Gavin, Madilyn and Elliott Shayne McCabe, Vero Beach. Born in Donora PA 1916, graduated St. Francis School of Nursing 1940, Anne lived 60 years in Pittsburgh, PA. A nurturing, gracious woman, she had a passion for providing early childhood education and the patience for perfecting the Toll House cookie. Anne will be remembered by her many nieces, nephews, her former daughter-in-law Jane McKee of Bradford Woods, PA, and other extended family members and friends. Anne moved to Sebastian in 1999 to a beautiful home built for her by her son. Her days were filled with the wonderful times of a Great-grandmother on the go in Indian River County: from ballet shows and acting classes at Riverside Children's Theater to long walks in McKee Gardens and the ELC; from fair rides and frog catching at the Fellsmere Frog festival to grandparent's day at the Osceola Magnet School and Community Church. She enjoyed fried dough and corn on the cob at the St. Helen's Harvest Festival and breakfast with Goofy and Donald at Disney on her 90th birthday. She cheered on her great grandchildren at lacrosse practices on the polo fields, swim meets at the North County Pool and performances at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center. The warm and welcoming lifestyle of Indian River County and the joyous company of her great grandchildren (and their friends) kept our "Bugga" in good health and fine spirits into her 97th year. Trips to the library, parks, parades, the Festival of Lights and any show at the Vero Beach Museum of Art, which she would tell you was built by her very smart (and well-raised) son, provided lasting memories to be shared by generations, for generations. Thank you Indian River County. Preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters, cherished grandson Michael Shay McCabe and her husband William S. McCabe Jr. MD.
