Charles Mudge, 82, died June 27, 2013, at home. He was born in Jersey City, N.J., and moved from Avon, Conn., to the Palm City area in 1996. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial management from the University of Vermont He was an Army veteran during the Korean War, serving in Fairbanks, Alaska. Before retirement, he sold commercial advertising for Thomas Publishing Co. and worked for Capewell Manufacturing Co. in Hartford, Conn. He was a member Laurel Oak Country Club in New Jersey, Farmington Woods Country Club in Avon, Conn., and Martin Downs Country Club in Palm City. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Valerie Mudge of Palm City; daughters, Kathryn J. Paradee of Gardiner, Maine, and Nancy M. Mudge of Palm City; son, Gordon C. Mudge of Voorhees, N.J.; and four grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 S.E. Indian St., Stuart, FL 34997. Services: A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. July 13 at Palm City Presbyterian Church, Palm City. Arrangements are by Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Stuart.
