I was in high school during the exciting Cazzie Russell era of U-M basketball lore, 1964-66. At the conclusion of the successful '64-'65 season, a U-M basketball banquet was held at the Michigan Union. I took my $20 for two tickets to Mr. Robinson, the banquet chair. He politely corrected me: it was $20 for ONE ticket. My face was suddenly forlorn and he noticed it. "Tell you what," he said, "We'll just pretend it is $20 for TWO tickets." I have never forgotten the empathy and kindness he extended to me that day.

Dear Marge and family,
Andy and I were so saddened to hear of Don's death. Our life and our memories are full of the good times we had together. We even managed to laugh at our putting! We are so sorry that we cannot attend the service for Don. We are leaving today (Friday) with three couples to go out of the country. Please know our prayers, thoughts and love go to you all.
