Frances Jones Obituary
FRANCES MCLAUGHLIN JONES Frances McLaughlin Jones died January 11, 2011 at Coventry Meadows Fort Wayne Indiana at the age of 91. She was born September 5, 1919 to James Frederick and Frances Lafferty McLaughlin in East Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated from Emmanuel College for Women in Boston in 1939, and afterwards taught school. During World War II, she joined the WAVES and served as Liaison Officer for Catholic Family Services in Pittsfield California. On June 27, 1945, she married Joseph Frech Jones in Long Beach California. The Joneses resided in St Louis, Missouri until 1960, after which they moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, where they were members of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church. Frances was an avid volunteer and was a member of the Friends of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, the Fort Wayne Museum of Art Alliance and the Fort Wayne Civic Theatre Guild. Frances was also a member of the Saturday Club in Fort Wayne In 1979, the Joneses retired to VeroBeach, Florida. They were members of the Johns Island Club and worshipped at the Holy Cross Catholic Church. Frances was preceded in death by Joseph, in 2004, her husband of 59 years, and by Mary, a daughter lost in infancy. She is survived by sons Michael (Teresa), Christopher (Susan) and Mark, by daughters Sarah Reincke (Terry) and Nancy Balasar (Richard) and by grandchildren Douglas and Michael Jones and Joseph and Emma Reincke. She is remembered, loved and sorely missed by family and friends for her sparkling intelligence, engaging wit, beauty, and loyal and gracious manner. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00AM on June 3, 2011 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2605 Highway A1A in Vero, Beach, Florida. Frances will be laid to rest next to her husband Joseph.
