KENNETH MARVIN PATTON PATTON, KENNETH MARVIN of Ortonville; died July 21, 2011 at 89 years of age. He was born January 13, 1922 in Pennsylvania to the late David and Bessie Paton. He married Erma Foster on June 9, 1943. In addition to his wife of 68 years he is survived by two daughters Sharon Nicholson and Cathy Patton and one son, Bradley Patton. Kenneth Patton his first born son, passed away in July 2004. Kenneth was know to his family and friends as Ken, he had 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Ken was a veteran of the U.S. Army WWII having served from February 6, 1943 to November 15, 1945. Ken participated in "Operation Overlord" at the invasion of Normandy and the liberation of Auschwitz Concentration Camp. He provided medical assistance and was awarded a Purple Heart on August 7, 1944. He also received 5 bronze stars during his duty. He was a member of the Ortonville Masonic Lodge, Elf Khurafeh Shrine Temple, Veterans of Foreign War and the American Legion. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 at Coats Village Funeral Home, Ortonville. Family and friends are invited to attend on Sunday, July 24 from 3-9pm in his memory. Interment will follow at Ortonville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice: 4444 Bristol Rd. Suite 320 Flint, MI 48507.
