KENNETH Z. ALLARD 1918-2010 Ken was born on March 1, 1918. He attended Holy Ghost Academy in Tupper Lake, New York. He then attended and graduated from Plattsburg State Teacher's College, where he married Roberta Kellog. In World War II, he served in the Army/Air Corp and was stationed on the Island of Guam. After graduate school at Columbia University, he began a teaching career in Chappaqua, New York that began with teaching the fifth grade and ended as assistant principal. He divorced in 1973 and retired in 1978 when he moved back to his beloved home town of Tupper Lake. There, he served on the Chamber of Commerce for three years, one as President. He joined the Rotary Club in 1979 and was proud to serve as President in 1982 when the Rotary Club completed construction of its pavilion in the town park. In 2001, he was honored to receive this organization's highest recognition, the Paul Harris Award. He commuted between Tupper Lake and Stuart, Florida before settling in Stuart permanently. He is survived by Caitlin Andrews of Oja, CA; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Allard of Acton, MA; Mr. and Mrs. David Allard of New Fairfield, CT., and Hazel Marshall, a 23 year friend and companion who resides in Stuart, FL and Whitehaven, PA. Ken's love and dedication to Hazel defies description. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Aycock Funeral Home, in Stuart, Florida.
