Lela Garrett Obituary

Lela B. Garrett, 89, died June 3, 2011, in Fort Pierce. She was born in Hillsboro, Ill., and lived in Fort Pierce since July 1944, coming from Madison, Wis. She was a homemaker and a member of and active in the Community United Methodist Church of Fort Pierce since 1950. She graduated from beauty college in 1940 and worked for several years part-time for Cobb & Brown Plumbing in Fort Pierce. Survivors include her son, Larry Garrett of Blairsville, Ga.; brother, Henry Barry of Tacoma, Wash.; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Waveland Church c/o Lenny Kurfiss, 332 Barry Hope Trail, Hillsboro, IL 62049. Services: Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. June 7 at Haisley Funeral Home chapel with a service at 6 p.m. A graveside service and burial will be at Waveland Cemetery, Hillsboro. Local arrangements are by Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service. A guestbook is available at www.haisleyfuneralhome.com.
