MILTON HANS PETER RASMUSSEN Milton Hans Peter Rasmussen, 94, of Fort Pierce, FL; Adrian, Michigan and Devils Lake,
Michigan passed away peacefully on Monday, December 9, 2013 at St. Lucie Hospice House in Fort Pierce, FL. He was born June 22, 1919 to Lars Christian and Agnes Christiansen Rasmussen in Trufant, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parent's, a brother Vernon Rasmussen and a sister Arlene Hansen. Milton entered the Army in Detroit, Michigan, November 2, 1942 and was honorably discharged October 4, 1945. He finished his career as a Sergeant in the Army Air Forces B-29 pilot and engineer transition school at Randolph Field Texas and received a good conduct medal. Milton met Mary Elizabeth Hollibaugh at a USO dance and they were married on June 30, 1943 in Winfield, Kansas. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary Elizabeth Hollibaugh Rasmussen; daughter, Jennifer R. Kopke (Michael) of Waveland Mississippi; son, David A. Rasmussen (Janice Williams) Caseville, Michigan; daughter, Kristen Rasmussen Scott, Vero Beach, FL; four granddaughters, one grandson, and four great-grandchildren. Milton had a long successful career as a manufacturer's representative, engineer and prototype designer. He owned M.H. Rasmussen Company and Esma Corporation until retirement. He loved all outdoor activities including: hunting, fishing, golf, sailing, iceboating, snowmobiling, mini-biking plus he was passionate about dancing and Michigan Wolverine Football. Milton is a total life member to the Moslem Shriners, Southfield Michigan, since 1954; a lifetime 32 Degree Mason to the Greenville 96, Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of Michigan; The American Legion and Elks Clubs. He was a lifetime member of Lenawee Country Club, Devils Lake Yacht Club and Indian Hills Country Club. A Memorial Service and Celebration is being planned for July 4, 2014 at Devils Lake, Michigan. In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may make a memorial contribution to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.
