Nancy Brost Obituary

Nancy J. Brost, 82, died May 31, 2011, at the VNA/Hospice House in Vero Beach. She was born in Buffalo, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach for 11 years, coming from Head Island, S.C. She graduated from Amherst Central High School and from Endicott College for Women in Endicott, Mass. She was a tennis player, winning many tournaments over her tennis career. She was a retired interior designer and with her husband oversaw their design and furniture business on Hilton Head Island. She was the chairman of the board of the Buffalo Zoo, founding member of the Amherst-Clarence Women's Tennis Club and president of the Dolphins at the Buffalo Athletic Club. She was active in the Presbyterian churches in both in Hilton Head and Vero Beach. Survivors include her husband, Bob; sons, Robert, Gary, Scott and Todd; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice House, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960. Services: A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. June 14 at the Carter Family Chapel at Indian River Estates in Vero Beach.
