Richard "Dick" Byrd Hart, 77, died April 10, 2013, in Covington, La. He was born in Salem, Mass., was formerly of Jensen Beach, and lived in Abita Springs, La., for eight years. He was the head golf professional at Hinsdale Golf Club in Hinsdale, Ill., for 43 years. He was a member of the PGA and PGA Tour. He was the winner of the 1965 Azalea Open defeating Phil Rodgers in one of the longest playoff victories in PGA Tour history. He won the Illinois Open and Illinois PGA Championship three times each and Illinois Match Play twice. He was inducted into the Illinois PGA Hall of Fame in 1990. Survivors include his daughter, Dalyce Hart Burvant of Madisonville, La.; sons, Richard Brett "Rick" Hart of Covington, La., and Ross Bennett Hart; and five grandchildren.
