Richard Fassberg, 80, died May 11, 2013, at Treasure Coast Hospice. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., grew up in Spring Valley, N.Y., moving to Palm City in 1996. He graduated from New York Military Academy and Ohio University He served in the United States Navy Band from 1955-1957. Until his retirement, he owned Rockland Paper Products in Nanuet, N.Y. While in New York, he was active in the Pomona Jewish Center, the Spring Valley Credit Union, the Spring Hill Ambulance Corps, and the Spring Valley Rotary Club. He is a Past Master of Athelstan Lodge F and AM. He was also an Eagle Scout. In Florida he served on the Martin County Construction Industrial Licensing Board and was a volunteer with the Stuart Police Department. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ronnie Auerbach Fassberg of Palm City; daughters, Amy Fassberg Kurz of Raleigh, N.C., Lisa Fassberg Weller of Westwood, Mass., and Stacy Fassberg Yaffe of Shoham, Israel; brother, Robert Fassberg of Manhattan, N.Y., sister, Lynn Hammer of Port St. Lucie; and five grandchildren. Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997. Services: A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. May 14 at Temple Beit HaYam in Stuart.
