ROBERT STIRLING MANSON Robert Stirling Manson was born December 13,1918 in Bonnybridge, Scotland. He was the youngest of 6 children (including a boy and girl twins) born to Robert and Janet Manson. He was affectionately known as "Scotty" as his accent pointed to his Scottish heritage. Scotty married Jane Bicket Allan in Dundonald, Scotland in 1942. They became the parents of their only child, Dianne, in 1944. Scotty worked toward a career as an electrical engineer and served in Scotland's Territorial Army. In 1951, the family moved to Canada for a short while and then on to southern California where Scotty continued his electrical engineering career. After 23 years of marriage, his wife passed away in 1965 and 7 years later he married Jean Dangleis. Following over 3 decades of marriage, Jean passed away in 2003. In 2007, Scotty relocated to Stuart, Florida, close to his daughter and her husband, Angelo Durante, who lived in Jupiter, Florida. Throughout his life, Scotty was an avid golfer and he became very proficient in it. After the passing of his daughter in 2008, Scotty regularly attended services at Grace Immanuel Bible Church in Jupiter where he heard the good news of salvation from sin that comes by the grace of God through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone, faithfully and accurately preached from the Bible. On August 13, 2014, Scotty passed away at age 95. He is survived by his devoted son-in- law Angelo Durante of Homestead, Florida. A memorial service is planned at Community Baptist Church (777 SE Salerno Road, Stuart) on Saturday, August 30 at 10:30 AM. A reception will be held in the Ministry House on the church campus immediately following the service. Donations in Scotty's memory may be made to Community Baptist Church, 777 SE Salerno Road, Stuart, FL 34997 or Grace Immanuel Bible Church, 17475 Jonathan Drive, Jupiter, Florida 33477 or Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.
