SEBORN WESLEY
EVANS Seborn Wesley "Wes" Evans of Port St. Lucie, FL, passed away October 8, 2013. He was born in Belmont, Arizona on October 20, 1930. The family moved to Prescott, Arizona until at the age of 12 when they returned to their hometown of Mobile, Alabama. Here he attended Murphy High School and upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. During the Korean War he served with Fighter Squadron 32 aboard the aircraft carrier the USS Leyte. Upon his return to the states, he was stationed at Sanford Naval Air Station, Sanford, Florida, where he met and married Theda C. Petras; they were married for over 60 years. After his discharge from the Navy he attended Alabama Polytechnic Institute, now known as Auburn University, graduating in 1956 with a B.S. in industrial Management. He was employed with Western Electric, after a successful carrier of 32 years; he formed his own company, WE TECH before retiring. He leaves behind his wife, Theda, whom he loved more than life itself, 3 children, Mike and his wife Ann, Lori and her husband Robert and Jeff and his wife Piper, 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild who will enter the world and family in April. Wes was a child of hard times, who instilled a strong sense of family, hard work, humor and so much quiet love in his children. He was a provider, protector, a quiet patriot and humanitarian. He has crossed over the river and is resting in the shade of tall log-leaf pines. We will miss you dad, War Eagle!
