THOMAS 'TOM' ANTHONY LARGETEAU, 83, of Vero Beach, FL died Wednesday (8/13) in the Indian River Medical Center. Tom was born on 03/03/31 in Schenectady, NY and lived there until moving to Vero Beach in 1980. He worked in the newspaper business at Capital Newspapers and the Vero Press Journal. In semi-retirement he was the owner and generous operator of 'Tom's Quality Furniture Store' in Vero Beach. A veteran of the Korean War, Tom served in the US Army. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the VFW. Tom volunteered his time as a coach of Little League, Babe Ruth, and Pony League Baseball. He also was often preoccupied with emptying Casino Slot Machines of their contents. Preceded in death by his former wife Marcia, brothers Joseph, Stanley, and Leonard; Tom is survived by his wife: Joyce, Son: Michael (Merja); daughter: Nancy (Fred) Whitman; brothers: David, John and Donald; grandchildren: Colby, Kyle, Josh, C.D, Greg, Chris, and Joseph. Joyce's children Julia and (Gary) Parr, Michael Faulkner, Susan Diamond and Toby Faulkner. Tom was a father, husband, veteran, coach, mentor, inspiration and friend.
