Thomas M. Norman Jr.


Thomas M. Norman Jr., 93, died April 2, 2013, at Palm City Nursing and Restorative Care. He was born in Chicago and lived in the Palm City area for 18 years, coming from Lake Park. He was the owner of Gateway Milling Co. in Peoria, Ill., for 27 years. He also was a Realtor in Palm Beach County for 20 years. He was a first lieutenant in the Army and a combat-wounded veteran during World War II. He was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City. He was a member of the West Palm Beach division of Disabled American Veterans, American Legion Post 162 and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. Survivors include his daughter, Judith Goronsson of Palm City; son, Stephen Norman of Jupiter; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Norma Lee. Memorial contributions may be made to the Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 S.E. Indian St., Stuart, FL 34997.
