Wanda Huester Obituary


WANDA LOUISE HUESTER Mrs. Wanda Louise Huester also known as "Meema" a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, age 58, of West Jefferson, NC died on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. Mrs. Huester was born on May 22, 1953 in Baltimore , MD to Arnold Edward and Betty Carlton Kirk. Mrs. Huester was preceded in death by her father. Mrs. Huester was a member of DAR and was active in many civic organizations in the community. She had a wonderful sense of humor, her infectious smile made every stranger a friend. Wanda was a great problem solver, decorator, loved music, dancing and was a beautiful person inside and out. She attended West Jefferson United Methodist Church. Family was the most important thing in her life. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 10:00 am at the West Jefferson United Methodist Church by Dr. Peter J. Taylor. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Schimunek Funeral Home in Perry Hall, MD. The family will receive friends following the service at the home on Monday, August 29, 2011. Mrs. Huester is survived by: Husband, Bruce William Huester of West Jefferson, NC, Son, Bryan Huester of Portland, OR, Son, Michael Jenkins of Baltimore, MD, Daughter, Cassie Goeller and husband Andy of Annapolis, MD, Daughter, Nita Jenkins of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Son, Nicholas Jenkins of Chester, MD, Mother, Betty Lee Kirk of Forest Hill, MD, Sister, Mary Beckenholdt of Luthersville, MD, Sister, Eileen Mayle of Manchester, MD, Sister, Joyce Wisniewski of Bel Air, MD, Sister, Becky Butt of Fawngrove, PA, Sister, Amy Turowski of Baltimore, MD, Sister-in-law, Karen Simmons of Franktown, CO, Grandchildren, Devon, Ryan, Maryn, Molly, Caroline, and Brody, also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Wanda was loved very much by our family. We always enjoyed seeing her and having regular get togethers w Bruce and Wanda. She left us way too soon, and her passing is a reminder to all that every single day is a blessing. Wanda, you will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved you.
