Bess T. Littleton

Bess T. Littleton, 83, of Spruce Pine, N.C., died Oct. 8, 2009, at her winter home in Fort Pierce. She was born in Honokaa, Hawaii, and was a winter resident of Fort Pierce for 15 years, coming from Wisconsin. Before retirement, she was the owner of Littleton Studios in Fort Pierce. In Wisconsin, she was an active member of the League of Women Voters, Sunset Garden Club and Library Board. She was a Girl Scout troop leader. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Harvey K. Littleton of Spruce Pine; daughters, Carol Shay of Bakersville, N.C., and Maurine Littleton of Washington, D.C.; sons, Thomas Littleton of Spruce Pine and John Littleton of Bakersville; sister, Louise Eberhart of Madison, Wis.; brother, Thomas Tamura of Mississippi; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Littleton. Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 2500 Virginia Ave,, Suite 202, Fort Pierce, FL 34981.
