JOSEPH "JERSEY JOE" VASHLISHAN, passed away Feb. 17, 2014, at the age of 91. Joseph was born March 11, 1922 in Tobyhanna, PA. After proudly serving the U.S. Navy during WWII, he moved to the Jersey Shore until 2009 when he moved to Stuart, FL. Joseph was a Master Brick Layer for over 50 years. He was a member of BPOE Lodge of Eatontown, N.J. and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He loved fishing and ice hockey, he was a devoted Jersey Devil fan. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mathew and Fanny, sisters Lucie, Mary and Eva, brothers John, Charles and George. He is survived by his children, Susan Algonas ((Arthur), Nancy Castle (George) and Joseph Vashlishan, 7 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. His ex-wife Grace Vashlishan, of Stuart, FL and his companion of many years, Jane Hendricksen, of Long Branch, N.J. Dad and Pop- Pop will be missed by all. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 24th, 2014 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Stuart.
