MARYANN MEIER died on April 7, 2014 at the age of 82 after a long illness. She lived with her husband Fred in the Stuart FL area for 21 years and they were married for 60 years. She was raised in Freehold, NJ and graduated from Jersey City Medical Center Nursing School. She lived in Newtown, CT for 30 years where she raised her family. She is survived by her husband Fred Meier, two daughters Lauren Curtiss of New York and Nancy Meier of Port St. Lucie, FL. She is also survived by her brother Carl Steinmetz and sister-in-law Carol in NC, a son- in-law Scott Curtiss in New York, a brother in-law Dr. Carl Meier in Fort Myers and two grandsons Gregory Curtiss of Maryland and Michael Curtiss of Arizona. She is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Ana Steinmetz of Lake Wales, FL. Maryann was active in many organizations throughout the years such as the Republican Woman's Club, American Cancer Society, Woman's Club and country clubs. She was a talented decorator, seamstress and nurse. She was very active with her husband in the Stuart Corinthian Yacht Club where her husband was the past commodore. She was a member of St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Hobe Sound. No flowers please. Please send donations in her name to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, F 34997. There will be no calling hours. The Funeral Mass will be held at St Christopher Catholic Church 12001 SE Federal Highway, Hobe Sound on April 10, 2014 at 10:30 AM. Interment will be at Riverside Memorial Park in Tequesta. Following the committal service the family invites guests to join them at a reception.
