MARY HILTON HUSSAMY, 77, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on April 15, 2014 at home with her family at her side. She was born on March 3, 1937 in Gee Cross, Cheshire, England to the late Thomas Rose and Annie Lister Hilton. She was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Greenwood. Mary, a graduate of Harrytown High School Convent of the Nativity, Bredbury, Cheshire, attended Leeds University, England, where she earned a degree in elementary education. She later returned home to teach at Harrytown High School, Hurstclough Primary School and became principal of Stalyhill Primary School, Cheshire, England. While at college in Leeds, Mary met her devoted husband, Samir Hussamy. They emigrated to Altavista, Virginia in 1970 and lived there until 1995 when she relocated to Vero Beach, Florida. She worked at the Hussamy Sports and Hand Center until she retired in 2010. In addition to her beloved husband, Samir, Mary is survived by a son, Omar David and his wife, Carole, also of Vero Beach; grandchildren Tarek, Hannah, Karim, and Amira; a sister Marjorie Taplin of Hale, England and numerous extended family members in both England and Egypt. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer and Parkinson Association of Indian River County, 2300 Fifth Avenue, Suite 150, Vero Beach, FL 32960 or VNA/Hospice, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
