William Arthur Schulze, 90, of Hobe Sound passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Born May 12, 1925 in Chicago, IL, he was the son of Theodore and Marie Schulze. He lived in Miami before relocating to Islamorada in the Keys to fulfill his love for fishing and diving in the beautiful Gulfstream and Florida Bay. He was an avid boater, a world traveler , he had enjoyed motor homing and downhill skiing. He was a member of the Retired Eastern Pilot Association, a proud founding member of the American Air Museum in England and U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. In 2002 Bill and Joan moved to Hobe Sound. His devotion to family was always present. Bill's spirit of adventure began early with the Boy Scouts as he earned his Eagle Scout status. He entered the Army Air Corps as an Aviation Cadet completing his requirements at Oklahoma Baptist University and was a veteran of World War II, flying B17's. Bill's flying continued out of the military, piloting private aircraft, working as a crew member of the Goodyear Blimp for a few years before he went on to a career with Eastern Airlines.

Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Joan M. Schulze; beloved daughters, Terri Roberts (Dr. Thomas W. Roberts), Wendy DeMarino (Sam DeMarino)and Robin Gunby; cherished grandchildren, Angela Roberts, Kris Gunby, Steele Gunby, Wesley Roberts and Cheyenne DeLuca; great grandchildren, Christian Brown, Joseph Roberts, Harper Gunby and Hudson Gunby; and brother, Theodore Schulze.

William was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Grace Mary Glascock; and brothers, Robert and Ken Schulze.

Memorial contributions in William's name may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be 2 PM, Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Jupiter Inlet Beach Club, Jupiter Inlet Colony.
