Mary Louise McKnight Mary Louise McKnight "Mary Lou",age 80, of Stuart, FL, passed away on October 4, 2009 at her home, with family and friends by her side. Mary Lou was born in Hindsdale,Ilinois and moved to Stuart, Fl in 1959, from Rockville, Maryland. Mary Lou graduated from Mount Vernon High School in New York, and Wesley College in Dover, Delaware. She met her lifelong husband Bill, on a summer job at the Jersey Shore. Mary Lou, devoted mother of five children, is survived by her daughter Gail Elizabeth McKnight of Orlando, FL; sons William Douglas McKnight (Nadia) of Orlando, FL, Peter Stuart McKnight (Pam) of Port St. Lucie, FL, David Colgate McKnight (Candy) of Orlando, FL, and Alan Andrew McKnight (Jean ne') of Palm City, FL, and eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Abner William McKnight III and her sister Audrey Mason. Besides countless friends, she had many nieces and nephews she adored. Mary Lou was a charter member of P.E.O.Chapter CI and a founding member of the Women's Club of Stuart. A lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Stuart, she was an active member in the church choir, and attended to the needs of the homeless in the area. A celebration of Mary Lou's life will be held 2:30 pm on Friday, October 9, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Stuart.
