Inez Amida Rose, 77, died Sept. 5, 2011, at St. Lucie Medical Center in Port St. Lucie. She was born in Jamaica and lived in Port St. Lucie for eight years, coming from Miami. Before retirement, she was a mental health assistant in the education system in Massachusetts for 23 years. She was a member of Faith Center Church in Port St. Lucie, as well as the Gold & Silver Group for senior citizens at the church. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Rose of Port St. Lucie; daughter, Yvonne Palmer-Foster of Port St. Lucie; brother, Vernal Scott of Canada; sisters, Emsie Davis of Fort Lauderdale, Salomie Miller of Jamaica and Cynthia Henry of Massachusetts; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Strickland Smith; and sister, Marlie Walker. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 113, 1150 S.W. Beauregard St., Port St. Lucie, FL 34953. Services: Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Faith Center Church in Port St. Lucie. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 24 at Faith Center Church with interment following at Rolling Oaks Cemetery, Port St. Lucie. Arrangements are by Aycock Funeral Home, Port St. Lucie.
