Mark Patrick Daly


Mark Patrick Daly, 57, died March 12, 2012, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute, Fort Pierce. He was born in West Palm Beach and lived in Fort Pierce for seven years, coming from Rio. He was employed as a substitute teacher for the St. Lucie County School District and was a professional baseball player with the Kansas City Royals organization for five years. He was a coach of the Special Olympics softball and boccie teams which he took to the State Finals on several occasions. He was a silver medal winner in baseball at the Pan Am Games. He graduated from Florida Southern University. Survivors include his spouse, Gail Bilquin of Fort Pierce; brothers, Tom E. Daly of Vero Beach, Paul Daly of Port St. Lucie and Marty Daly of Jensen Beach. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Daly. Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics of St. Lucie County, 2000 Virginia Ave., Fort Pierce, FL 34982. Services: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. March 16 at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Martin Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Lucie Chapel.
