Dominick J. DeSantis, 89, died Aug. 17, 2012, at Port St. Lucie Brighton Gardens Nursing & Restorative Nursing Home. He was born in New York City and lived in Port St. Lucie for the past nine years, coming from Wilmington, Vt. He served in the Army during World War II. He became a navigator for the Army Air Forces Transport Command, serving from 1943 to 1946. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in science from New York Institute of Technology. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Sally I. DeSantis of Port St. Lucie; daughters, Donna Cosma of Viera, Jacqueline Bellucci of Orlando and Joni Lenahan of Port St. Lucie; son, Tony DeSantis of Bradenton; brother, Nicholas DeSantis of Port St. Lucie; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services: Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Aug. 22 at Forest Hills-Byrd, Young & Prill Funeral Home, Port St. Lucie. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. in the chapel.
