Ruth Elizabeth Taylor Carlson, 92, died Sept. 2, 2012, at Pelican Garden Assisted Living, Sebastian. She was born in Taunton, Mass., and lived in Roseland since 1977, coming from New Milford, Conn. She retired from the Southern New England Telephone Co., where she was an operator supervisor. She was a member of Roseland United Methodist Church where she was in the choir and served in Thrift Store, Coffee Hour, Christmas Craft Bazaar and ushers. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, New Milford; Roseland Women's Club; and the Roseland Volunteer Fire Department Women's Auxiliary. Survivors include her sons, William Carlson of Vero Beach, Brad Carlson of Sherman, Conn., and Brian Carlson of Lexington, N.C.; daughter, Marion Martinelli of Roxbury, Conn.; sisters, June Sullivan of Greenville, R.I., and Bernice Dain of Florence, Ore.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Carlson; and brother, A. Philip Taylor. Memorial contributions may be made to the Roseland United Methodist Church, P.O.
