Charles Helseth Obituary

Charles W. Helseth, 72, died Feb. 5, 2013, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach. He was born in Vero Beach and was a lifelong resident. He owned and operated Helseth Financial Mortgage Co., Vero Beach. He worked for the Vero Beach Council on Aging and American Red Cross, Vero Beach Chapter, and was an avid supporter of the DEC. He was a guidance counselor for Navajo children and worked with Save The Children to raise awareness and aid to Native American children. He attended St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach. Survivors include his sister, Shirley Morris of Vero Beach; and companion, Joan Tanchala of Vero Beach. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County: 6230 77th St., Vero Beach, FL 32967. Services: Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 7 at Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A prayer service will follow at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 8 at St. Helen Catholic Church. Interment will be in Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach.
