RICHARD BLAINE PRYCE Richard Blaine Pryce, 87, of Lakewood, NJ, died on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Shorrock Gardens in Brick, NJ. Born in Eureka, Kansas, Mr. Pryce moved his family to New Jersey in the mid 1960's where he resided first in Lawrence Township, then in Stockton. He later returned to New Jersey after spending 20 years in Fort Pierce, Florida. A journalist and published author, he served as Senior Staff Writer for Boy's Life and as Editor of Explorer Magazine, both based in New Brunswick, NJ and Irving, TX, for over 25 years. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II. An outdoor enthusiast, Mr. Pryce enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and gardening. Additional interests were the study of American Indians and playing cards with family and friends - where he was known to enjoy marathon games of Hearts, Bridge or Poker. He is survived by his former wife and friend Dorothy Pryce of Lakewood, NJ; his children and their spouses Beverly Pryce of Lakewood, Rebecca Pryce Hoff and her husband Jay of Stockton, Melinda Price of Lakewood, Blaine Pryce of Manasquan, NJ and Allison Boughton and her husband Russell of Wilmington, Delaware; his three grandchildren, Zoe and Kate Boughton and Caleb Hoff of Philadelphia, PA; his niece Gladys Samuels and her husband Harold; his nephew Harold "Sonny" Powers and his wife Linda, all of El Dorado, Kansas: his great-niece Deborah Worley and her daughter Samantha of Eureka. He loved and remembered his hometown of Eureka until the very end. Funeral services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the
