Anthony J. "Tony" Langer died March 30, 2013, at his home. He was born in Staples, Minn., and lived in Stuart for 28 years, coming from Milford, N.J. Before retirement, he was a captain for Eastern Airlines. He was a Navy veteran and was part of an early warning squadron. He was a member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Jensen Beach and St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Boone, N.C. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and worked with "RESTORE" Habitat for Humanity. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Nita Langer of Stuart; daughters, Lee E. Langer of Minneapolis and Amy L. Trimble of Lakeland; sons, Anthony J. Langer Jr. of Cary, N.C., and Lawrence E. Langer, of Raleigh, N.C.; sisters, Lorreta, Florence and Maryann; and nine grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Treasure Coast, 1201 S.E.
