CHRISTINE CZAJAK Christine Marie (Bittel) Czajak of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2014, surrounded by loved ones. She was 66 years old. Christine grew up in Syracuse, New York, and was the oldest of eight children. After marrying her childhood sweetheart Tommy, she moved often, residing in various cities throughout upstate New York, Texas, Alabama, Massachusetts, and even Germany, before moving to Florida in 2008. She held several different occupations over the years, including switchboard operator, bookkeeper, waitress, restaurant manager, and forklift driver. Christine enjoyed crafting, playing bingo and blackjack, decorating her home, feeding and watching the birds in her yard, caring for her dog Mini- Me, and laughing with family and friends. Her favorite time of year was Christmas, and she took great pride in her spectacular nine-foot Christmas trees, which were decorated with special beaded tinsel that she made herself and enjoyed giving as gifts to friends and family. Christine is survived by her husband of 47 years, Thomas Czajak, and her two loving daughters, Dawn Czajak and Heather Meyers (Joseph). She is also survived by four sisters, Catherine Cook (Jack), Jeanne Baxter (Richard), Susan Bova (Gary), and Elizabeth Finucane; two brothers, James Bittel and Bruce Bittel; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patricia (Murray) Bittel and James Bittel, and her sister Diane Bannigan (Timothy). Christine was an auxiliary member of American Legion Post 318 and VFW Post 10066. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to The ( or Treasure Coast Hospice ( now).
