Michael Edward Sparks, 66, of Grant, Florida passed away May 29, 2016.
He was born in Buffalo, NY on April 13, 1950 to J Vincent and Julia Sparks. He graduated from Bethel Park High School in Bethel Park, Pa.
Michael served in the Army in the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He received the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in Vietnam. He also received the National Defense Service medal and Vietnam Service & Vietnam Campaign Medals. He operated an Automotive Repair business in Sebastian prior to being employed by Piper Aircraft Corporation from which he retired. He was also part owner of The Final Touch Cabinets in Vero Beach. He was a past Fire Chief with the Micco Volunteer Fire Department and Captain with the Sebastian Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by wife, Natalie and daughter, Isabella Lynn; 1st wife Shirley Anderson Bush and their children, Kim (Robert) Sedillo, Norman (Machelle) Anderson, Michelle (Mark) Sigular; brothers Daniel of Roseland, Terrance and James of Fort Pierce, David & Thomas (Lisa) of Vero Beach and sisters Kathleen (Ed) Martin of Orlando, Aileen Sparks of Manteo, NC, Maureen (Billy) Hanway of Crawfordville, FL, Mary (John O'Sullivan and Jackie Sparks of Vero Beach, Theresa (Lyman) Fawcett of St Petersburg, Fl; grandchildren, Brittany, Ryan, Haile, Julia and Victoria and numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents J Vincent and Julia Mae Sparks, uncle Bud Fleming and siblings Mary Catherine and Richard.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 1-3pm, Friday, June 3rd at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home followed by military honors.
