TIPP CITY - Kay Imo (Clase) Garland, 78 of Tipp City passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness, Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Hospice of Dayton. Born Sept. 27, 1934, in Van Wert, Ohio, to Maurice F. "Bus" and Imogene (Layton) Clase Sr. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Maurice "Junior" Clase.
She is survived by her husband, Charles V. Garland; sons, Charles M. and his wife Christine Garland, Huber Heights, Ohio, Timothy W. Garland, Tipp City, and daughter, Marla G. and her husband Joel Robins, Macedonia, Ohio; along with brother, Dennis and his wife Janice Clase, Logan County; grandchildren, Michael (Christina) Garland and Melinda (Steve) Griffin; and great grandchildren, Bryton M., Deacon S. and Destiny Garland.
Kay had worked for Tuffy Brooks Sporting Goods as a manager in the lettering department. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Tipp City, an Associate Member of the Korean War Veterans Association, Western Ohio Chapter, Piqua, and a "Kentucky Colonel."
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church, 445 W. Evanston Road, Tipp City, with Pastor Dan Williams officiating. Burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH 45371 and one hour prior to the service at the church.
