PIQUA - Ned B. Etter, 84, of Piqua, died at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at his residence.
He was born May 11, 1928, in Covington, to the late P.R. and Lilian (Boggs) Etter.
He married Ardith L. Werling on March 11, 1978, in Piqua; and she survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Janet L. Etter of Covington; a step daughter, Debra K. (Jim) Toomey-Bonacorsi of Greenville, N.C.; a step son, Rodney (Terri) Shefbuch of Pinetta, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, John Allen Etter; a daughter, Sandra Sue Etter; three brothers; a step brother; and a grandson.
Mr. Etter retired as the owner and manager of Etter Music & Gospel Shop in Covington.
He had previously worked for 20 years at General Films Inc. of Covington and 10 years at General Motors in Dayton.
He was a United States Navy veteran having served during World War II.
Additionally, he was active with the Piqua Baptist Church, the Upper Valley Community Church and enjoyed his ministry, traveling and will be remembered for his sense of humor.
A service to honor his life will begin at 10 a.m. Monday April 29, 2013, at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with the Rev. Andy Monnin and Pastor Donald R. Wells co-officiating.
Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Covington, where full military honors will be provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
