TROY — Alma Mae "Ame" (Earhart) Wilgus, age 83, of Troy, Ohio passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton.
She was born on July 8, 1930 in Troy, Ohio to the late Carl G. Earhart and Laura Thelma (Peacemaker) Earhart.
Ame was preceded in death by her husband, Adam "Ike" Wilgus Jr. on December 19, 2004.
Ame is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Brian Eric Wilgus of Troy; Joe and Neva (Lance) Wilgus of Yellow Springs; grandsons, Arin, Micah, and Aden Wilgus; brothers and sister-in-law, Mark Earhart of Troy and Arlon and Barbara Earhart of Perry, Georgia; nieces and nephews, and special family friend, Eric Lorents.
Ame was a 1948 graduate of Troy High School and a longtime member of the First United Church of Christ in Troy. She was formerly employed with Wright Patterson Air Force Base, the Miami County Unit of the American Cancer Society, and Marianette's clothing shop.
Services will be held 10:00AM on Friday, February 28, 2014 at the First United Church of Christ, 120 S. Market Street, Troy, Ohio with the Rev. Lauren Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the Casstown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00PM on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy.
