Norma Jean Irvin

PIQUA — Norma Jean Irvin, of Piqua, died at 5:56 A.M. on Saturday, January 18, 2014, in her residence at Piqua, OH.

She was born on April 7, 1933 in North Hampton, Ohio, to the late Russell and Goldie Ray. On September 18, 1954, in Liberty, Indiana, she married John Irvin. He survives.

Norma is survived by three daughters and son-in-laws: Cheryl and Todd Haase, Diane and Brett McCawley, Barb and Marc Sherry; one son and daughter-in-law: Donald and Linda Irvin, all of Piqua, OH; one brother: Richard Ray, Springfield, OH; seven grandchildren: Jim and Ashley Sherry, Angie and Josh Sullenberger, Michael Sherry, Brian Haase, Matt McCawley, Kaity McCawley and Jon Irvin; one great granddaughter, Olivia Sherry.

She was preceded in death by one brother: Delbert Ray.

Norma was a member of the Family of Grace United Methodist Church in Piqua.

She was a homemaker and loved to work in her flower garden, cook and spend time with her family.

She also enjoyed going to Holmes County.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua with Pastor Mary Haldeman officiating and Pastor Max Jackson co-officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
