Tina Jo Davis, 68, of Tipp City passed away at her home on Friday, January 17, 2014, in the comforting and loving presence of her family. Tina was born in Harrodsburg, Kentucky on February 24, 1945 to Walter and Della Goodpaster.

Tina was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Fred, as well as by her father and her younger sister, Bonnie. She is survived by her daughter Samie Haynes, granddaughter Tayla Haynes, great-granddaughter Avari Jo Buster, and by her mother Della; sisters Betty (Jerry) Proctor of Colorado Springs, CO, Debbie (Terry) Comer of Piqua, and brother Gary (Cheryl) Goodpaster of Boonville, Missouri, as well as by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Tina grew up in Troy and graduated from Troy High School in 1963. Thereafter, in addition to being a busy mother to Samie, she worked for B.F. Goodrich in Troy for a number of years, then purchased and operated the Troy Plaza Motel before taking a position at DAP, Inc. in Tipp City, where she continued to work until her death.

Tina was an extraordinary woman. A fun-loving and outgoing person, she treated her many friends like they were also family. She was an innovative and creative artist and decorator, who gifted her family and friends with unique items of her own design. She had an adventurous spirit, which led her to love fast cars, especially her favorite 1963 Corvette Stingray. She enjoyed writing letters to the editor of the Troy Daily News and authored Disagreeable Types columns in the Tipp City Independent Voice. She also loved playing the Ohio Lottery, her cats, bowling, slot machines and Bob Seeger music. She will be missed by many.

There are no immediate final services planned for Tina, as she wished. She requested that anyone wanting to memorialize her, please consider a contribution in her name to her favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Very special thanks to Tina's many friends at DAP, where she worked for 33 years, and to members of American Legion Post 586, for their love and support. Finally, the family wishes to offer their thanks and recognition to the wonderful caregivers at Hospice of Miami County. Arrangements entrusted to FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME 327 W.
