COVINGTON — Walter R. McGraw, age 87, of Covington, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.
He was born in Portsmouth, OH to the late Forest and Nancy (Russell) McGraw; a WWII U.S. Army veteran; retired from Hobart with over 40 years of service; liked to hunt, fish and garden and loved nature.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Theresa (Tucker) McGraw; 2 sons, Walter R. McGraw Jr & Patrick Allen McGraw; son-in-law, Richard Snider; 2 brothers, Carl & Harold McGraw; & baby sister, MaryAnn McGraw.
Walter is survived by son Larry Michael (Rebecca Ann) McGraw of Covington; 2 daughters, Connie Snider & Carol Meiring, both of Sidney; 5 grandchildren, Scott (Tammy) Alexander of Troy, Michael (Kelley) McGraw of New Weston, Shawn Meiring of Covington, Sarina (Ryan) Swarts of Piqua, & Eric Meiring of Piqua; 4 great grandchildren, Matthew & Christian Alexander & Mercy & Margaux Swarts; nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 12 noon at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Chaplain Ed Ellis officiating. Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington with Military Honors provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
