ST. PARIS — Drusilla Gilliam, age 87, formerly of Saint Paris, passed away at 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 in her daughter's residence in Piqua, Ohio.
Born on September 18, 1926 in Lucille, KY, Drusilla was a daughter of the late William Henry and Rachel (Moore) Ferguson. She married Earl Gilliam on February 13, 1945 and he preceded her in death on October 17, 1987. Together they raised thirteen children, eleven of whom survive: Gene (Betty) Gilliam of West Liberty, KY; Joyce Kaufhold, West Liberty, KY; Mattie (Gary) Moore, Oil City, PA; David Gilliam, West Liberty, KY; Avery (Marilyn) Gilliam, Williamsport, OH; Delorse Gilliam, Columbus, OH; Penny (Rod) Urton, Columbus, OH; Ella Thompson, Piqua, OH; Jerry Gilliam, Springfield, OH; Sherry (Brent) Roberts, Springfield, OH; and Elbert (Tammy) Gilliam, St. Paris, OH. She was a loving and proud grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.
And is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Minnie and Brenda Sue Gilliam, three sisters, Jane Lyons, Delphi Williams, and Berthie Ferguson, and five brothers: Thurman, Tom, Ezra, Wilson, and Ray Ferguson. Drusilla was of the Christian faith and a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m in the Christian Worship Center, 3537 S. Elm Tree Road, St. Paris, Ohio 43072 with Reverend Jim Fannin presiding. Burial will follow in Upper Honey Creek Cemetery, S. Elm Tree Road, St. Paris, OH. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am to 11:00 am prior to the funeral service in the church.
