TROY - Randy G. Coppock, 62, of Troy, passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Upper Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born Dec. 15, 1949, in Troy, Ohio, to William and Mary {Perkins} Coppock, who preceded him in death.
Also preceding him in death was a brother; Dick Coppock.
He is survived by his wife; Brenda (Mathis) Coppock, children, Rick Mathis, Jeff (Brenda) Venturino and Brandi (Philip) Smith, all of Troy; sister, Joyce Smith of Georgia, Rose Denney of Troy, John Coppock of Georgia and Phillip Coppock, Germany. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Amy (Bobby) Swabb, Troy, OH, Brandon "Scooter" Mathis, Ashley Smith, Austin Smith, Cindy Staten, Sarah Staten
all of Troy, Trina Patrick, Tipp City and Casey (Derek) McMurchy, Springfield, 10 great-grandchildren; several loving nieces, nephews and special friends; and his beloved dog, Cocoa.
Randy was retired from Apex Tool and Die, Troy.
He was a member of the Tipp City Church of the Nazarene where he was a very active leader with Spikes Youth Group, enjoyed fishing, hunting, vegetable gardening, cruising and working on his '57 Chevy.
He could also been seen every Christmas season ringing the bell for the Salvation Army.
Randy was an all-around "good guy" and his joy for life and helping others will be missed. He was a blessing to all who knew him.
A "Celebration of Life" service will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at the Tipp City Church of the Nazarene, 1221 W. Main St., Tipp City, with Pastor Brad Warkentine officiating. Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Services have been entrusted to Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH 45371.
