Alicandro, John - Shrewsbury  
John Alicandro 92 Shrewsbury - Mr. John Alicandro, died on Wednesday January 21, 2015 with his family by his side. He was 92. John was born October 1, 1922 in Worcester, a son of Italian immigrants Bernardino and Marianna (Stellato) Alicandro. Raised and educated in Worcester, he was a graduate of North High School with the class of 1941 and then honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. John helped run the family business, National Coal & Oil, with his two brothers and mother after his father died at an early age of 60. He worked here until his retirement in 1998 and it is where he earned the nickname 'Johnny the Coal Man' He married Virginia M. O'Brien on October 27, 1945 and they have been residents of Shrewsbury for over 65 years, moving last year to the Community at Southgate. John worked tirelessly to provide for his family which later in life allowed him to enjoy time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. While growing up during the Great Depression it taught him to fix anything broken and appreciate the simpler things in life. He had a passion for gardening and true to his Italian heritage he knew his way around the kitchen. Christmas dinners were always a feast and he loved all the preparations involved for the great dinner. He and his family enjoyed time at their home in East Falmouth on Cape Cod. Other interests included playing cards, golfing, bowling, local and New England sports and a good cigar. John was an active member of the Shrewsbury Knights of Columbus, Adelphi Council #4181; the American Legion Ray Stone Post #238 and Saint Mary's Church. John is predeceased by his siblings, William and Benny Alicandro, Louise Cravedi and Dorothy Abelli. In addition to his wife of 69 years, Virginia, he leaves his six children, John 'Jack' Alicandro and his wife, Mary of Millbury, Joanne Wedhoff of CA, Bernie and his wife, Hannah of Princeton, William B. and his wife Lynette of Shrewsbury, David P. and his wife, Juliann of Worcester and Christopher J. and his wife Sherri of Hopkinton; 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews Family and friends will honor and remember John's life by gathering for calling hours at Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors ~ The Sumner House ~ On the Common, Shrewsbury Center on Sunday from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. and again at 8:45 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.. Burial with military honors will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Honor John's memory with a donation to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Aloia, Ben - Clinton Twp  
Ben Aloia, 80 Clinton TWP, MI - Passed away January 8th. He leaves his daughters Kathleen Herman and her husband Alan of Leicester, Leslie MacDonald of Grafton and a son Anthony Aloia of Leicester. He is survived by his siblings Marie Aluia and her husband Salvatore of Hamilton AL. and Sam Aloia and his wife Rose of Newport Richey FL. He was the oldest son of Louis and Josephine Aloia. Mr. Aloia had three grandchildren Kellie Gervais, Roderick MacDonald and Christine Adkins. A great grandson Jackson Gervais. He served his country in the US Navy, he was honorably discharged in 1954. Ben was in sales for many years before retiring in 1992. He lived all his life in Michigan. He had a love of boats and the Great Lakes. He also had a passion for cooking and was a wonderful cook. Ben donated his body to Wayne State University for the betterment of Human Science. He will be sadly missed by his family. There will be a memorial service at a later date.

Amelotte, Ronald - Taunton  
Ronald Amelotte, 52 TAUNTON - Ronald Amelotte, 52, of Taunton and formerly of Worcester, passed away at home on Thursday, January 22, 2015, from complications of severe COPD. Ron is survived by the love of his life Dierdre LeBoeuf, with whom he lived for 15 years, his stepson Evan LeBoeuf, and his granddaughter Rosalie. He also leaves behind his loving family, his sister Wanda Liseno of Norton, and his brothers, George, John and Thomas Amelotte, all of Worcester, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Earl and Alice Amelotte, and his brother Earl Amelotte. Music was Ron's passion. He could name who was playing any song on the radio from the 1970s through the 1990s. This turned into a game for him. Part of Ron's passion for music was playing lead guitar with his band Edgy for over 20 years. Ron was very talented and was able to learn how to play the guitar by ear. Due to health issues, Ron was unable to continue with the band but did continue playing and teaching his many nieces and nephews. Ron was an avid sports fan and enjoyed going to many football games as well as watching professional games on TV with his nephews. The funeral Mass will be held Thursday, January 29, at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. The Athy Memorial Home, Worcester, is directing arrangements.

Audino, Cory - Clinton  
Cory T. Audino, 30 CLINTON - Cory T. Audino, 30, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He is survived by his beloved daughters Mia Bella Audino & Gianna Gean Audino; his mother, Pamela (Connelly) Audino of Worcester; brother, Zachary Audino & companion Patricia Barrows and their son Zander of Gardner; maternal grandparents Jack & Betty (Kennedy) Connelly of Clinton; paternal grandmother Nancy Audino of Gardner; several aunts & uncles, numerous cousins and dear friends. He is pre-deceased by his father John A. Audino and his sister Casey Patricia Audino. Cory was born in Worcester, raised in Clinton and was a graduate of the Clinton High School Class of 2002. He worked for several years in property management and landscaping with Botany Bay Properties in Worcester. Cory was a sports enthusiast and devoted fan of the New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys and Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed fashion & cooking, but most cherished time spent in the company of his daughters, family and friends. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered as a loving father, son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle and friend. A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Friday, January 30, 2015 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with calling hours prior from 9-11AM. Burial will be held privately in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Cory T.
