Daniel DiRienzo Obituary
Daniel was born in Worcester, December 5, 1983, graduated from Burncoat High School with a focus on horticulture and has lived here all his life. Daniel was never without a smile on his face. He was always happy and enjoyed having fun. He was a great friend to everyone who will be very much missed. Daniel loved the outdoors, fishing, boating, hiking, riding jet skis and dirt bikes. He especially loved to spend time at Lake Quinsigamond. Daniel was also a sports fan who enjoyed attending Worcester Sharks games.
He is survived by his parents, Daniel C. DiRienzo, Sr. and Sheryl A. (Laitinen) DiRienzo with whom he lived; a brother, Derek P. DiRienzo; his paternal grandmother, Marylou Gezley in Tennessee; his maternal grandparents, Paul and Frances Laitinen of Millbury; many aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.
Daniel worked for the Price Chopper Supermarket on Sunderland Rd. and with his father in the family business American Auto Transport of Worcester.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends and family are invited to a period of calling hours from 10 a.m to 11:00 a.m Saturday in the funeral home.

I am so sorry to hear of Danny's passing. I knew him from the Worcester Sharks, and he was a wonderful, kind, unique man. He will be missed by so many just among the hockey community. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I met Dan when I was a Freshman at BHS. Dan and I were in Horticulture together, I had many struggles due to my Asperger's Syndrom and I will never forget how friendly and outgoing Dan was to me. Dan truly went out of his way, to make friends with me, and I will never forget him. I have thought about him often and wished that we had stayed in touch, he will always hold a special place in my heart.

My deepest condolences to Danny's family. I knew Danny from seeing him at church being dropped off for Infusion on Thursday Nights or helping out working on some project in the building. To mr & mrs DiRienzo i am so sorry for your loss! my family and i took the great pleasure of knowing danny through the last 3-4 years from lake quinsigamond!Every year we would see him at the lake with us riding our jetskis with our sons.he was like part of our family there, we would hang out all day long there together! he would always say "you coming again tomorow" omg wow this is a shock to us! he was such a good kid! the summer days will never be the same there at lake quinsigamong with out Danny!! Danny you will be in our prayers r.i.p luv the Rodriguez Family!

While I did not know your son my heart goes out to his mom, dad, brother and whole family.
